La Crosse Community Theatre is inviting theater lovers and bookworms alike to join an exciting new monthly tradition—the LCT Play Reading Club! Hosted on the third Saturday of every month in the welcoming atmosphere of the LCT lobby, this event offers an enriching way to engage with dramatic literature and connect with the local theater community.

The next session, happening on January 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., will feature The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, one of the most beloved American plays of the 20th century. This semi-autobiographical "memory play" is known for its heart-wrenching exploration of family dynamics, resilience, and dreams deferred. Attendees will have the chance to dive deep into Williams’ vivid storytelling, led by Hannah Louise Fernandes, a dynamic host known for her passion for the arts and thought-provoking discussions.

Participants can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee as they engage in an informal yet illuminating discussion of the play’s themes, characters, and historical context. Whether you’re a seasoned theatergoer or someone curious about the art of playwriting, the Play Reading Club offers something for everyone.

“Reading a play together creates a shared experience that’s both inspiring and educational,” said Fernandes. “It’s an opportunity to step into the shoes of iconic characters, reflect on the writer's intent, and simply enjoy the magic of live dialogue.”

Attendees are welcome to bring their own copy of The Glass Menagerie or borrow one on-site. Space is limited, so LCT encourages community members to register in advance through the theater’s website at www.lacrossetheatre.org.

This Play Reading Club series is just one of the many ways La Crosse Community Theatre is expanding its offerings as part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement and education.

So, mark your calendar, grab a cozy beverage, and join us in turning the page on a new chapter of theatrical exploration!
